This is my interpretation of Ervin Somogyi’s idea of a Modified Dreadnought. The idea was to make a dreadnought style guitar but with a tighter waist a bit higher up to make it more appropriate for playing while sitting. The large surface area of the lower bout and large air-volume of a traditional dreadnought are maintained, but with a more aesthetically exciting and more functional shape. A thinner body also works very well with this shape for those who want a big, rich sound, with a bit less boom to the bass.
